Proteros Biostructures GmbH
High-resolution structures of challenging drug targets by X-ray crystallography and cryo-EM.
Proteros is a global leader in structure-based drug discovery, delivering more than 800 high-quality protein structures annually across 600+ protein targets, with 250+ targets with established crystallization systems available off-the-shelf through Gallery Mode. The company primarily provides protein-ligand co-crystal structures, tailored to accelerate medicinal chemistry and enable informed drug design.
Complementing its crystallography expertise, Proteros applies cryo-EM wherever it offers the better route to a structure, including large and flexible multiprotein assemblies, membrane proteins, and dynamic complexes. Feasibility assessment is completed in under a week, with structures delivered in roughly one month.
Together, these technologies address the industry’s most demanding target classes, including GPCRs, ion channels, transporters, helicases, RNA complexes, epigenetic targets (HDACs, BRDs, KDMs), nucleotide-binding proteins, small complexes down to ~50 kDa, and PROTAC and molecular glue ternary complexes. Across these challenging projects, Proteros achieves success rates exceeding 80%.
Notable structure determinations include PI3Kα, NLRP3, PKMYT1, and Werner helicase, alongside extensive expertise in biologics and antibody complexes, including Fab, nanobody (Nb), and other ternary assemblies.
